Ludwig Van Beethoven trios for piano, clarinet and cello
Ludwig van Beethoven
Trio in B flat major, Op. 11
Trio in E flat major, Op. 38
The link between clarinetist Ronald Van Spaendonck and cellist Marie Hallynck is a shared sense of musical eloquence. Both are laureates of the Juventus Foundation and made their débuts (with Alexandre Tharaud and Cédric Tiberghien respectively) with Harmonia Mundi’s ‘Young Musicians’ collection. In addition to being part of the Belgian musical elite, both have successful international careers. They formed a trio in 2006 along with the brilliant Turkish pianist Muhiddin Dürrüoğlu-Demiriz, who teaches in chamber music in the Royal Brussels Conservatory, and this trio filled a void in the field. They launch their recording career together here with two masterpieces by Beethoven for the three instruments.
