Kheops ensemble

Mes Amis motswith Bruno Coppens

<< Shows

In this programme, the Kheops ensemble joins forces with comedian and actor Bruno Coppens, a magician with words, to take over the infamous ‘Carnival of the Animals’ by Camille Saint-Saëns. We hear the king of the animals, hens and roosters, jumping kangaroos, very silly donkeys, a cuckoo in the depths of the woods, an elephant, an elegant swan… and also some pianists!

To whet the appetite, the first part of the programme offers ‘La Revue de Cuisine’ (The Kitchen Review) by Bohuslav Martinů, an instrumental and culinary delight boasting all the wit of the 1920s. Pot, Lid, Twirling Stick, Dishcloth and Broom are the characters in this witty and humorous 1927 ballet. Will Lid and Pot fall back in love? Who will emerge victorious in the duel between Dishcloth and Broom?

This programme is a feast of words, dishes and animals! To cite Bruno Coppens: “…et pour parler de ce Carnaval, les mots que j’utilise sont aussi mes amis… ce sont mes amis mots!”
